Roller GauzeWhile dry gauze dressings should never be used directly on a wound bed before the wound has completely closed, they can be impregnated Vaseline or medical honey to create a moist environment to promote healing. Dry gauze can also be added as a secondary dressing to hold excess exudate or provide protective padding; and, when saturated with < 1% povidone-iodine solution used to pack deep wounds during the inflammatory phase. Use flexible medical tape, a transparent micro-thin film dressing, or a self-adhering bandage to hold them in place.
Our two-inch wide sterile gauze roll is sealed in plastic and, once opened, can be kept clean and dry in Small Squeeze Top Vials. No need to carry individually packaged gauze pads with all their associated packaging. Cut what you need from the end of a roll to make a single gauze pad, cut through center of the roll to make multiple pads all at once, or cut the end of a roll off to improvise a narrow gauze roll for wound packing. The vials fit into the medium 2-loop velcro strips and extra rolls can be stored in the inside zippered pockets of any of our first aid packs.
