Steri-stripsSteri-strips work well for closing clean, shallow wounds; they also help minimize scarring of facial wounds. While they can be improvised, steri-strips are easier to use, compact, and weigh almost nothing. Use Tincture of Benzoin to help ensure adhesion. Thoroughly clean both the wound and the surrounding skin with soap and water. air dry, and bring the skin edges close together before applying any steri-strips; DO NOT overlap the skin. Space strips roughly one quarter-inch apart. In a wet environment, cover with a transparent micro-thin film dressing.
There are three 1/4" x 3" strips per packet and five packets per order. Multiple packets, together with other dressings and bandages, fit into the slash pocket on the inside of all our first aid packs.
