Forceps

While or 5.5-inch forceps are a bit easier to use, either length can be used to grasp and remove splinters, to expose wound pockets for irrigation, as a probe to pack gauze strips into deep wounds, and to clamp hemorrhaging arteries. The 5.5-inch forceps fit easily into the clear vinyl pockets of our Guide First Aid Pack or our Expedition First Aid Pack; they will also fit into the interior slash pocket of both packs. The 3.5-inch forceps fit into the interior zipper or slash pocket of our Minimalist Pack.
