About Wilderness ALS

Our WEMS Advanced Life Support course is designed for urban AEMTs, Paramedics, & Registered Nurses who wish to adapt their skills to a remote care environment as Search & Rescue team members, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, expedition medics, or trip leaders.
AEMTs, paramedics, and registered nurses must hold a current national registry certification or state license to receive certification as a WAEMT, WPM, or WRN. Our Wilderness ALS course focuses on assessing and treating traumatic, environmental, and medical emergencies in a wilderness expedition or remote EMS environment.

Certifications Included in WFR Courses
WMTC WEMS certifications are valid for a maximum of three years and only with current NREMT cert or state license; there is no grace period. To recertify, you must complete a WEMS Recertification course before your certification expires.
