Nalgene Containers
Nalgene containers are strong, lightweight, and have multiple uses. In fact, they are so great we designed our first aid packs around them. Be sure to order the right sized containers for the type of pack and supplies you plan to carry:
  • Our Minimalist First Aid Pack has six small velcro loops and two medium velcro loops.
  • Our Guide First Aid Pack has six small velcro loops, four medium sized velcro loops, and three large velcro loops.
  • Our Expedition First Aid Pack has six small velcro loops, eight medium sized velcro loops, and three large velcro loops.
Bottles
  • Use narrow mouth bottles for liquids.
  • Use wide mouth bottles for tablets, capsules, ointments, or dried herbs.
  • Use dropper bottles for alcohol, Povidone-iodine solution, or oil of clove.
  • One-ounce bottles fit into the medium 4-loop velcro strips while 1/2- and 1/4-ounce bottles fit into the small 6-loop velcro strips. A 1/2- ounce bottle is the same height as a 1/4-ounce dropper bottle.
  • In our Minimalist First Aid Pack 1/4-oz bottles are typically used for medications with 1/2-oz bottles for Benzoin or Povidone-iodine. Use 1-oz wide mouth bottles for ointments.
  • In our Guide First Aid Pack and Expedition First Aid Pack 1/2-oz bottles are used for small tablets or capsules with larger medications carried in 1-oz wide mouth bottles. Benzoin or Povidone-iodine are usually carried in 1-oz bottles. Ointment is typically carried in 1-oz wide mouth bottles. 2-oz bottles are tall and only used occasionally for carrying Oak & Ivy Cleanser, Povidone-iodine, and other high use items; our first aid kits are primarily designed to carry 1/4-, 1/2-, and one-ounce bottles.

Snap Top Vials
  • Use 50 ml Snap Top Vials for gloves and roller gauze. The 50 ml vial fits into the medium 4-loop velcro strips.
  • Use 28 ml Snap Top Vials for Q-tips. The 28 ml vial fits into the rear vertical spine pocket or the internal zippered pocket on the Minimalist First Aid Pack and in the front vertical spine pocket on the our Guide First Aid Pack or Expedition First Aid Pack.

Squeeze-top Vials
Squeeze-top vials are lighter and clearer than the Snap Top Vials. Squeeze on the sides to open; cap is attached and cannot be lost.
  • The small squeeze-top vial is roughly the same size (2.75" tall x 1.25" in diameter) as our 50 ml Snap Top Vial and fits into the medium 4-loop velcro strips.
  • The large squeeze-top vial is 2.75" tall x 2" in diameter; it fits into our 3-loop velcro strips and easily holds a roll of self-adhering bandage, protecting it from compression when in your first aid pack.
