Medical Honey GelMedical Honey—we sell Medihoney®—is made of Leptospermum Honey and other natural gelling ingredients. Medical honey has proven more effective than antibacterial ointments in preventing infection and promoting healing. It's strong osmotic pressure draws exudate from deeper tissues to the wound surface and aids in autolytic debridement. It can be used to fill a deep wound, applied to the wound’s surface, or impregnated into a gauze dressing. and is recommended for the prevention of local infections and the treatment of biofilms during the proliferation phase (3-24 days) and can be left in place for up to seven days. It's something every backcountry first aid kit should have.
