WMTC Expedition Pack

Velcro Loops

  • five 1/2-ounce Nalgene bottles
  • four 1-ounce wide mouth Nalgene bottles

  • four 2.3- by 2.75 micro-thin film dressings

Internal Zipper or Spine Pocket
  • epinephrine via auto-injector, vial, or ampule (Rx systemic allergy)

Fold-out internal pocket
  • For women: Vaginal suppositories or creams (OTC: miconazole, clotrimazole, tioconazole, butoconazole) for vaginal yeast infections or carry 150 mg fluconazole (OTC) tablets in a 1/2-ounce blister pack; dose is one oral tablet.
  • Extra tampons

1/2-ounce Nalgene bottle
  • 25 mg caplets of diphenhydramine (OTC) for local & systemic allergies; use with epinephrine)
  • ± 10 mg or 20 mg prednisone tablets (Rx); use with epinephrine if evacuation time is > 8 hours
  • 120 mg pseudoephedrine tablets (OTC) nasal decongestant
  • 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride tablets (OTC) anti-diarrheal
  • 25 mg sennosides tablets (OTC) for constipation
  • Ondansetron tablets or promethazine tablets (Rx) to control vomiting > 12 hours.  Ondansetron also comes as disintegrating tablets; carry in blister packs to prevent degradation in interior zipper pocket.
  • ± opioid emergency pain tablets (Rx; use during evacuation)
  • ± For women: 100 mg phenazopyridine HCl tablets (OTC) to relieve the pain associated with a urinary tract infection; carry in a 1/2-ounce Nalgene bottle. Note: Phenazopyridine HCl does NOT treat the infection but permits a relatively pain free self-evacuation.
  • 81 mg chewable "baby" aspirin (OTC) for treatment of suspected heart attack

1-ounce wide mouth Nalgene bottle
  • 200 mg tablets of ibuprofen or naproxen (OTC pain meds)
  • Broad-spectrum antibiotic (Rx doxycycline is a good choice)
  • petroleum-based topical antibiotic or white petroleum jelly (OTC wounds)

1-ounce narrow mouth Nalgene bottle
  • antibacterial soap; carry in 1-ounce narrow mouth Nalgene bottle
