October 15-16, 2022 Mazama, WA You must complete the Part 1 online component of our two-part hybrid WFR & WEMT Recertification course in order to attend the Part 2 practical session. This is an in-person course and subject to protocols designed to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 during the course. You must agree to abide by these protocols and be fully vaccinated to attend the course.

Logistics
The 2-day practical session for this hybrid recertification course is held at the North Cascades Heli Ski Barn located near the Freestone Inn in Mazama, WA. From Winthrop, follow the signs to Mazama on SR-20. The Freestone Inn is located 1.5 miles west of the Mazama Junction. The heli-barn is located on the cabin loop, just past the Inn proper. If driving from the West side, keep in mind that the North Cascades highway might not be open yet: Check Dept of Transportation website for current highway 20 conditions if coming from western Washington.

Lodging: There are many lodges and nightly rentals in the Methow Valley so there's sure to be one to suit you.
Camping: Inexpensive camping is available at Early Winters Campground approximately one mile from the classroom. Early Winters Campground is a primitive forest service campground with picnic tables, water (no showers), dumpster, and outhouses; it's located just past Mazama junction on Route 20. Additional forest service campgrounds are located on Route 20. A state campground with excellent sites and showers is located three miles outside Winthrop at Pearrygin Lake State Park (509.996.2370); the KOA in Winthrop also has showers (509.996.2258); both take reservations. And there is a KOA in Winthrop with river access and a pool.
