You must complete the Part 1 online component of our two-part hybrid WFR course in order to attend the Part 2 practical session.
This is an in-person course and subject to protocols designed to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 during the course. You must agree to abide by these protocols to attend the course.
We highly recommend that anyone registering for a course consider purchasing trip insurance in the event that COVID-19 or other covered circumstances impact your participation in the course. There are no refunds once you register and pay for a course.
The practical session for this hybrid course is held at the APU campus in the Carr-Gottstein Hall; there are forested areas with water features and access to multi-use trails for realistic rescue simulations.
Nearest Airport: Ted Stevens Anchorage International (ANC)
Lodging: Many options available in the city of Anchorage
Camping: Limited tent camping available on campus ($5/day)
Additional Information: Due to the season, winter rates may apply to local lodging, but is not guaranteed. Please check availability of rooms and rates. The APU campus cafeteria will not be open during the course; there are food options within a 10 min. drive, however, it is recommended to bring a lunch to class each day.
