Current
EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic is a prerequisite. Nurses, Physician Assistants, Physicians, and others with advanced medical degrees are encouraged to take this course rather than a Wilderness First Responder; however, they will be awarded a Wilderness First Responder certification in lieu of a Wilderness EMT certification. with successful completion of our Renewal Packet or the on-line Review & Recertification exam; there is a $25 fee for the on-line exam or processing the Renewal Packet for those taking our Standard WFA; the on-line exam fee is included in the DLP WFA tuition. Rescue & Site Management Workshops |

Many of our instructors have their own companies that, in addition to instructing courses in wilderness medicine also offer courses in rescue and risk management. Please visit their web sites for specific course descriptions and registration.

Sierra Rescue is owned and operated by Julie Munger and Abigail Polsby. Sierra Rescue is the California regional training center for Rescue 3 International and both Julie (2006) and Abigail (2009) have been voted Rescue 3 Instructor of the Year.

Southwest Rescue is owned and operated by Aaron Ball. Southwest Rescue offers Swiftwater Rescue courses certified by Rescue 3 International and Avalanche Courses certified by the American Institute for Avalanche Research & Education (AIARE). Aaron also instructs custom field-based site management courses.

Experiential Adventures is owned and operated by Mat Erpelding and Geoff Harrison. Experiential Adventures specializes in site management courses, organizational consulting, group development, educational design, and adventure programming.
